“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind.”
This was the first year me and my boyfriend actually did something on Valentine’s day so we both decided to visit a new city: get outselves on a train and enjoy the views.
We visited Porto, which was elected the best european destination of 2017. I had visited the city before but it was only this time that I enjoyed my time there and really explored.
We visited Clerigos Tower, antique shops and the Lello bookstore which was very inspiring for J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series as well as the city of Porto.
Although it was raining and thundering hard in the morning we were still able to enjoy the day and it also made the trip more memorable.
The diversity of the city made me entusiastic to go back and spend more time exploring and it felt like a good place to spend Valentine’s day.
There were people on the streets selling roses, the environment around us and the building transported us to the lives of people centuries ago and after the rain in the morning the clouds gave way to a beautiful sunny day.
It’s definitely a lovely city.
